Definitely taste younger than a 30yo whisky

Definitely taste younger than a 30yo whisky

A very pleasant & gentle nose despite the high ABV, tropical fruits, creamy, does not smell heavily peated at all
The palate definitely packs a punch & is very reflective of the youthfulness (runs quite hot & spicy), quite sweet but becomes spicier towards the end
Long & slightly bitter finish, there’s a subtle linger smokiness but it’s VERY subtle

Not a bad whisky by any means but for the price and reputation of this distillery, I am not that impressed
Quite a subtle peated nose but also surprisingly sweet, initially fresh fruits but gets increasingly darker
Definitely a lot of oomph but surprisingly hot for a 22yo whisky, prunes, dark fruits, surprisingly sweet with water added, but also gets spicier
Slightly bitter finish, shorter than I expected although the bitterness does linger
Amber Room Review

A very complex dram that is hampered by the finish
Honestly if I had to blind this I would have thought that its a sherried Islay with a very delicate balance between sweet & smokiness, slightly floral
The palate reminds me of a 1970s Ardbeg with its initial sweetness before the gentle but very obvious smokiness arrives, finished with a slightly bitter & linger aftertaste With water it becomes sweeter but also slightly more spicy towards the end, the smoke is very subtle and is concentrated more in the aftertaste
Slightly dry & spicy finish

Orchard fruits, herbal tea, sweet, quite a fresh nose, slightly tart-like
Very full palate, definitely sweet, zesty, slightly bitter & spicy towards the end, peaches
Lingering tropical fruits finish, slightly oaky but not bitter; surprisingly there’s a bit of smokiness towards the end which is a very welcoming surprise

This was my first Dornoch ever and quite honestly I am blown away & very pleasantly surprised of the quality of the dram
Beautiful nose, would have never guessed that this was an 8yo whisky, so floral & fragrant I could honestly smell this all day, extremely fresh & fruity
Sweet & does not taste young at all, very fruity, apricot, salted plums, a very interesting profile, even have some umami funkiness
Long, sweet, slightly salty & dry finish

It’s not everyday you come across a young heavily peated Tomintoul, definitely had to try this considering that I’ve only drank really old 40+yo Tomintouls before. A young whisky but not bad by any means, a good budget Speyside option
Definitely a very fresh, fruity nose, no signs of peat, slightly floral, very sweet nose
The peatiness comes hard in the palate, lots of smoke, then comes the sweetness, honey, burnt sugars
Lingering smoke in the finish, long & slightly salty finish, gets a bit bitter towards the very end but not too noticable

From one of the last barrels of Port Ellen. An above average Port Ellen with a gentle, balanced peatiness but it feels closer to a Caol Ila than a typical Port Ellen
Definitely a more meaty Port Ellen, closer to a Caol Ila nose than a typical Port Ellen, opens up to a more ashy, lemony sensation with hints of saltiness
Initially quite sweet but quickly becomes briny and then slightly spicy, zesty, big meaty peatiness followed by industrial coal & ashes, a typical Port Ellen profile (not like that’s bad or anything), alot of salty maritime peatiness, but a very subtle & elegant level of peat
Long smoky finish, but the lingering smoke is quite gentle, slightly spicy

A solid 30+ yo Irish whiskey that I wish could have had a bit more oomph perhaps at 50% or higher
Very fragnant floral fresh fruity nose, acrylic, quite sweet, cane sugars, rum-like
Very floral & sweet, gets a bit tropical, definitely mangoes, almost perfumy but not quite there (thank god), definitely rum-like (not surprised from my previous Irish experience), gets slightly spicy towards the end but nothing too overwhelming
Short, slightly dry, sweet finish, more tropical fruity lingering notes

Fresh fruits, floral, very light & elegant nose, melons, vanilla
Definitely sweet, honey and vanilla, runs slightly spicy & hot towards the end
Slightly lingering bitter & dry finish
