A rare old sherry whisky that I actually enjoy - a delicate balance between sweet & bitter old dry sherry

Nose

Dark dried fruits, old sherry, raisins & dark apricots, dry leather, slightly creamy, dark chocolates & plums

Body

Surprisingly sweet & fresh, the bitter old sherry notes only kick in towards the end, the spices & bitterness are subtle & not as overwhelming as the dark sherry color would suggest With water it becomes sweeter but the oaky tannin dry sherry notes also become more pronounced

Finish

Medium finish with dry oaky notes

WhiskyNotes finds a fruity core of apricot and citrus beneath pronounced oak, ginger and mint. Water reveals peach and citrus aromas, while the finish becomes drier and spicier. Ruben awarded this Cadenhead release 88 points.
