Definitely one of the more heavy, industrial smoky Laphroaigs I've had, leaning less towards the sweetness & typical medicinal iodine that the distillery is known for

Nose

Briny salty seasmoke, peppers, the typical Laphroaig medicinal and iodine notes are much more subtle here, towards the end there's a bit of lemon and orchard fruits and a bit of creaminess

Body

Sweet, salty, very briny, lemons, seawater, medicinal, slightly sour, spices, pepper, tobacco, berries, with water it gets much sweeter, elegant, and a bit floral, the smoke becomes very light and subtle

Finish

Long, dry finish, leather, woody, medicinal, gets a bit tarry and tobacco as well

A very complex old sherried-style whisky despite being only 10 years old

Nose

This is as typical as you can get to an old sheried style whisky nose, with added oomph due to the high ABV, then come some herbal and Chinese medicine notes

Body

Dark fruits, sweet, floral, stewed strawberries, slightly bitter towards the end, herbal, with water the medicinal and dark fruits become more dominant, along with a slightly sweeter aftertaste

Finish

Short, dry, herbal finish

Nose

A little bit of gentle peat smoke, sweet tangerines, honey, quite zesty

Body

Definite sweet & zesty, gets bitter, kumquats and tangerines, very thick body, oily and sticky, the zestiness sticks into your tongue and coats it for a while, quite a wacky dram to be honest. With water there's a more floral and borderline perfumy note

Finish

Long tangy finish, sour, slightly bitter
