My first Braeval and it’s slightly disappointing for a 36yo dram as there’s not as much oomph or complexity as I would expect, considering the almost £500 at retail, I would not say that it is worth the price

Whiskyfun — Serge Valentin

Retrieved 05 October 2026

Whiskyfun finds coastal smoke, passion fruit, mango and camphor on the nose. The palate combines fir, verbena, pink pepper and gentle peat; water reveals some assertive oak. The finish brings pepper, lemon, wax and samphire. Serge praised this unusual Braeval and awarded it 90 points.
