A pair of very interesting & rare Chichibus as they are only (supposedly) sold for bars & hotels and not available for retail. Distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2022 from a single cask by the top-tier La Maison du Whisky both at 60+% ABV. A side-by-side tasting of the Tasogare (peated) and Akatsuki (unpeated) bottlings.

Body

Bacon, meaty BBQ notes, definitely a sweeter peated whisky but gets saltier towards the end, floral, a bit perfumy imo

Finish

Slightly spicy/bitter finish

Whiskyfun gives Tasogare 90 points. Ash, mint, banana, lime and bitter cocoa accompany astringency. Its long finish grows fresher and faintly salty.
