If it's true then this is an amazingly affordable single cask Laguvulin but I think it is probably not

Nose

A fruity explosion, oily, definitely needs some water

Body

A balanced mix of fruity & smoky body, bonfire smoke

Finish

Ashy & dry, medium finish; gets a bit bitter & oaky

Not everyday you find a Glenugie, bottled in a beautiful Signatory decanter and an extremely reasonable price for a 1970s vintage at ~400$; some might think that this is a bit over-sherried

Nose

Loads of sherry, very nice fruity nose

Body

Very sweet, honey, slightly minty/menthol

Finish

Slightly bitter (but still sweet) finish, as expected from the sherry finish

This is simply one of those whiskies where you have to take your time to fully comprehend and unpack the complexity and what makes it so sought-after and highly praised. Really makes me wonder how good the Broras from the early 70s with a higher level of peat must be to be judged as even better than bottles like these from the lates 70s. This is a whisky that will please any whisky drinker and will impress most, if not all.

Nose

The nose is just a heavenly mix of peat and sweet tropical fruits, honey, sea saltiness, a hint of ash & tar, quite possibly the best nose I’ve ever experienced from a bottle of whisky

Body

Rich honey, mineral, salty, smoked fish With water - sweet green apples, slightly creamy & hint of vanilla, a bit oily

Finish

Waxy, extremely long finish & surprisingly fresh & fruity
